چکیده

The periodic lambda algebra is a co-Koszul complex of the Steenrod algebra whose homology gives the E2 term for the Adams spectral sequence. Its elements are closely related to periodic homotopy theory, and exhibit periodic properties. In this paper we discuss an algorithm to compute the homology of the periodic lambda algebra, and investigate the algebraic structure for the E2 page of the vn periodic elements.

Periodicity in a System of Differential Equations with Finite Delay

The existence and uniqueness of a periodic solution of the system of differential equations d dt x(t) = A(t)x(t − ) are proved. In particular the Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem and the contraction mapping principle are used in the analysis. In addition, the notion of fundamental matrix solution coupled with Floquet theory is also employed.

Unstable K-cohomology Algebra Is Filtered Lambda-ring

Boardman, Johnson, and Wilson gave a precise formulation for an unstable algebra over a generalized cohomology theory. Modifying their definition slightly in the case of complex K-theory by taking into account its periodicity, we prove that an unstable algebra for complex K-theory is precisely a filtered λ-ring, and vice versa.

Periodic elastic medium in which periodicity is relevant

We analyze, in both (1+1) and (2+1) dimensions, a periodic elastic medium in which the periodicity is such that at long distances the behavior is always in the random-substrate universality class. This contrasts with the models with an additive periodic potential in which, according to the field-theoretic analysis of Bouchaud and Georges and more recently of Emig and Nattermann, the random mani...

Periodicity in Quasipolynomial Convolution

The leading term of a convolution of quasipolynomials with periods p and q is periodic with period gcd(p, q), smaller than expected. The degree of the convolution is usually d+e+1; we characterize the exceptions. To do this we need to characterize the null space of a circulant matrix. We wish to point out a simple yet unexpected property of quasipolynomial calculus. A quasipolynomial is a funct...
